Artist's Statement
Wood carving is easy. You begin with a slab or log and you
visualize the shape you want it to become. Then you chip away all the unwanted
wood.
The carver's art lies in knowing how to remove only the
surplus wood and not a sliver more, for once it is gone, you can't get it
back.
Wood splits, warps, expands and contracts with time. It has
lived and is living. My primary objective is to accept and move with these
forces rather than to resist them.
I want you to enjoy my carving. If at any time you are not
pleased or the piece is damaged, please return it to me for repair or
exchange. Terry Adair
